FO Rebukes Indian FM for Making Inflammatory, Unjustified Remarks About Pakistan Army

On Sunday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) issued an unequivocal rebuke of statements made by S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, calling his remarks highly inciting and irresponsible. Geo News +2 and Business Recorder both provided coverage.
Jaishankar had earlier made allegations in an interview for Indian media that India’s difficulties with Pakistan stem from the Pakistan Army, suggesting its establishment’s “ideological hostility” toward India is the source of many of their difficulties with them. He blamed Pakistan’s military forces for what New Delhi perceives to be persistent tensions, cross-border incidents and terror-related problems in their area.

FO’s statement noted the recent May 2025 conflict as evidence of both professionalism and resolve of military in responding to perceived aggression – calling this record more accurate than what it characterized as false allegations.

FO accused certain elements in New Delhi of engaging in an intentional campaign aimed at defaming state institutions of Pakistan and diverting attention away from what the FO saw as “India’s destabilising actions in the region and beyond.” (Geo News +2)
The FO warned against such “incendiary rhetoric”, noting its potential danger in undermining peace, amity, and stability across South Asia. Geo News.
FO also encouraged India to reflect upon what it deemed internal issues — such as discriminatory policies, human-rights abuses and ideological extremism such as Hindutva — rather than placing blame solely on Pakistan’s institutions. Islamabad Post reported.
Analyst commentary indicates this exchange exemplifies the fragile and tenuous state of Pakistan-India relations following recent clashes, and reveals how diplomatic rhetoric — especially from senior officials — can fuel mistrust between neighbours. Pakistan’s Foreign Office’s forceful rebuttal highlights what Islamabad perceives to be an ongoing pattern of disparagement by Indian leadership that further inflamed relations.

At present, Pakistan continues to affirm its commitment to peaceful coexistence, diplomacy and dialogue while remaining prepared to defend its national interests and sovereignty if provoked. GTV News +2 and Islamabad Post both report this fact.
